Team Global Express has entered a $480 million, seven-year partnership with trans-Tasman cargo airline Texel Air Australasia. This deal adds four Boeing 737-800 BCF aircraft to the company’s domestic air freight fleet, boosting delivery efficiency and reliability.
Why does this matter? The new planes allow for more parcel deliveries on regional routes with prioritized schedules, including extra morning pick-ups at places like Port Hedland, Norfolk Island, and Karratha. This more frequent and efficient schedule helps enable more overnight deliveries for regional customers.
Team Global Express’ multimodal network, using trucks, ships, planes, and trains, provides scale, reach, and speed across Australia and New Zealand.
Manage larger shipments
The Boeing 737-800 BCFs replace four planes in Team Global Express’ fleet of forty and are the first to feature the company’s branded livery.
These new freighters enhance the reliability of the logistics provider’s schedule by managing larger shipments and tighter deadlines.
Texel’s Boeing 737-800 BCFs offer a 4,000kg increase in cargo capacity per flight compared to the replaced aircraft. Their multi-pallet configuration benefits the express and e-commerce freight market, providing greater flexibility for customer needs.
Team Global Express’ multimodal network
Team Global Express Group CEO Christine Holgate says the partnership will improve the reliability and speed of the company’s air freight services, especially in regional Australia.
“In a country as vast as Australia, air freight plays a vital role in connecting distant cities and transporting essential goods such as life-saving medications, perishable goods, machinery equipment, and livestock,” says Holgate.
Holgate adds that Team Global Express moves over 100 million items annually across its multimodal network. “Our point of difference is that we can rally our whole network during disruptive events such as inclement weather to get our customers’ freight where it needs to be,” says Holgate.
E-commerce services and faster delivery
How will this partnership enhance the company’s e-commerce services and delivery speed across Australia? This partnership supports its new e-commerce product, offering customers faster delivery across a single network. Team Global Express delivers at least one day faster across Australia than any other parcel operator, and the new Boeing 737-800 BCFs will help us achieve even tighter delivery times.
