DX Group has acquired Express Freight, a Northern Ireland logistics company specializing in pallet, parcel, and general freight deliveries.

The delivery solutions provider DX Group provides delivery solutions, which include parcel freight, courier, and logistics services. Its services are available in the UK and Ireland.

The business operates through two divisions, DE Freight and DX Express. The company’s experience spans almost half a century.

Express Freight, a family-run business with over 50 years of success, operates from a three-acre site in Moyraverty, Craigavon, just 25 miles from Belfast.

Its location offers excellent access to the Dublin/Belfast motorway. The company runs 54 daily delivery routes and employs more than 115 staff.

The purpose-built depot features 17,500 sq ft of raised warehouse space, 38 loading bays, a rear access bay, 6,000 sq ft of storage, and 6,500 sq ft of office space. Additionally, the site includes a 10,000 sq ft drive-through canopy.

Key acquisition highlights

In announcing this latest acquisition, the company highlighted it is actively pursuing further accretive acquisitions.

Here are some highlights of the acquisition:

Boosting business growth: The acquisition strengthens DX’s Freight division, a leader in delivering and collecting irregular dimension and weight (IDW) items.

Trusted partnership: Express Freight has a strong reputation as a successful Independent Service Provider already familiar to DX Group.

Seamless transition: Express Freight’s management team will stay on board, ensuring smooth integration into its network.

Commitment to service: The move guarantees continued high-quality service for Express Freight’s existing customers.

Paul Ibbetson, CEO of DX Group says: “We believe that integrating Express Freight within the DX Group will generate significant growth opportunities, whilst expanding the presence of the DX brand, in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.”

DX Group’s logistics business

Late last year, DX Group opened a postal depot in Stafford. This depot was previously operated by Tuffnells Parcel Express Limited (Tuffnells).

In April, the company opened its first regional depot in Collooney, Sligo, Ireland. The facility measures 7,500 square meters.
