Headline Features

Two Major New Capabilities

July was headlined by Enterprise Single Sign-On for larger organisations and Plan & Drive, a whole new way for drivers to organise and run their day from the map.

New Capability

Enterprise Single Sign-On

Locate2u now supports Enterprise SSO. Larger organisations can connect Microsoft Entra ID and let their teams sign in with their existing corporate credentials.

  • Sign in with your organisation's identity provider. Built on an open, provider agnostic foundation, with Microsoft Entra ID available now and support for additional providers such as Okta on the way.

  • Branded login for your organisation. Your team lands on a login page carrying your branding, from first sign in through to session renewal and logout, across both the App Portal and Team Portal.

  • Automatic team provisioning. Sync members from your directory groups straight into Locate2u, with support for multiple groups per team and optional mapping to team regions.

  • Configurable user lifecycle management. Optionally disable access automatically when people leave your organisation, keeping your account aligned with your directory.

  • Enterprise grade access control. Every sign in validates the user's current status, and SSO access is strictly scoped to registered organisation members.

New for Drivers

Plan & Drive on the New Mobile App

Drivers can now plan and run their entire day directly from the map.

  • Group stops with a lasso. Draw around stops on the map to group them the way you want to work.

  • Optimise within groups, instantly. Route optimisation runs right on the device, so grouped stops fall into the best order in moments.

  • Choose your start and end points. Set where the route begins and ends at optimisation time, pre filled from your configuration and editable on the spot.

  • Navigate without leaving the app. Turn by turn driving to each stop, right on the in-app map. No more bouncing between apps.

  • A live, always current map. The route line updates as stops are completed, pins stay crisp at every zoom level, and the map always shows exactly what's left in the day.

Driver In-App Chat

Drivers and the office can now message each other directly inside the new mobile app. Fewer phone calls, everything in one place.

Driver Break Management

Configure breaks per driver and have them respected automatically through trip generation and route optimisation.

  • Per driver break setup with full create, edit, and delete controls

  • Breaks are built into generated trips and optimised routes automatically

  • Break time is reserved exactly as configured, with team scoped access and validation throughout

  • Updated break rules flow through to every new trip from the moment you save them

Platform

Web Dashboard and API

From automated customer communications to our largest API expansion in some time, July brought upgrades right across the platform.

Customer Communications

Expanded automated customer communications

  • Trip started SMS across every app version. Your customers' on-the-way SMS now covers trips started from the new mobile app, so automated notifications reach customers consistently however your fleet runs.

  • New email trigger: Delivery Date Booked. Fire a custom email action the moment an order's status changes to Delivery Date Booked, extending your automated communications toolkit beyond SMS.

Team Portal

Team Portal productivity

  • Sortable columns and saveable view templates on the Trips and Runs screen. Set up your columns and filters once, then load your view every day.

  • Quick Search, quicker. Open a stop reference straight into a new tab from search results.

  • Convert to Run, upgraded. Select a service package during conversion, with past dated trips completing their runs automatically.

  • Travel distance at your fingertips. Distances recalculate automatically when a trip completes, refresh with current day route changes, include travel to the trip's end location, and can be recalculated on demand from the trip list.

Developers & Integrations

Public API and integrations, significantly expanded

July was our largest API expansion in some time, giving your systems deeper access to Locate2u.

  • POD PDFs delivered straight to your systems. The proof of delivery webhook now includes a secure, ready to use download link for the POD PDF, so integrations can collect delivery documents automatically the moment they're ready.

  • Rates rules endpoint. External systems can now read your rate rules, opening the door to synced pricing across your stack.

  • Richer webhook payloads. Stop status webhooks now carry the failure reason when a stop fails, giving your integrations the full story in real time.

  • Shipment contents in batch imports. Load full shipment detail, including contents, in a single import pass.

  • Team member assignment on orders import. Assign a specific team member to pickup and drop stops directly within the import.

  • Stop charge and cost line endpoints. Create and manage charge and cost lines programmatically, including batch line creation and charge line flags.

  • Associated company on team members. The team members API now includes each member's associated company.

Scheduling

Scheduling and run precision

  • Locked run schedules, guaranteed order. Fixed-order run schedules carry your exact stop order onto every generated trip. What you set is what your drivers see.

  • Precise shift timing. Run schedule trips record shift start times exactly as configured.

  • Accurate trip hours for rates. Trip start and end time calculations feed the rates engine precisely, so hourly based charges are spot on.

Reporting & Billing

Reporting and billing clarity

  • Transparent team member invoices. Invoice PDFs present hourly and distance based trip costs as separate lines, making driver payment breakdowns clear at a glance.

  • Readable rates configuration. Service package and tag names display alongside their IDs in the rates engine.

  • Source references in trip exports. The trip screen stops export now includes a Source Reference column.

  • High volume SMS reporting. The SMS History report handles even the busiest messaging teams smoothly.

Multi Region

Multi region operations

  • Full visibility for regional leaders. Team Managers in a parent region can now see issues raised by team members across their child regions, giving regional leadership the complete picture.

Localisation

Localisation and login

  • Japanese language support on login and authentication pages.

  • Configurable login destination. Choose where your team lands after signing in, per team.

Performance

Platform speed and scale

A sustained programme of performance engineering ran through every July release.

  • Ten database performance upgrades across trip dashboards, stop lists, search, invoice generation, and routing.

  • High volume imports, accelerated. Batch stop imports and high volume write paths now run with dramatically fewer database round trips, a real difference for large scale operations.

  • Stronger performance under peak load. Improved database connection handling on the platform's busiest paths keeps everything responsive during peak messaging and delivery activity.

  • Infrastructure modernisation. Core processing services upgraded to the latest .NET runtime on modern, elastically scaling cloud infrastructure, keeping the platform quick, current, and ready to grow with you.

Mobile

Driver Apps and the New Mobile Platform

New Mobile Platform, 11 July

Mobile 1.0.9

The release that introduced Plan & Drive, in-app navigation, and Driver In-App Chat, plus a substantial round of enhancements shaped by continued driver feedback.

  • Scanning that fits the workflow. The scan screen remembers your last selected tab between stops, and onboard scanning supports parcels scheduled for future days.

  • Background POD uploads. Proof of delivery photos and notes upload in the background, so deliveries keep flowing even with the app pocketed or the phone locked.

  • Calendar pickers on date fields. Date custom fields open a proper calendar when creating stops.

  • Full item descriptions. Long item descriptions display in full.

  • Faster throughout the day. Significant in-app performance work for a quicker, more responsive experience across a full day of deliveries, end to end.

iOS and Android

Driver apps reliability programme

Four legacy app releases through July continued our reliability and performance programme, with improvements to scan to claim responsiveness, frequent address scanning, document scan capture, and trip completion. Drivers on the legacy apps get a smoother, more dependable day throughout.
