September 2026 Product Update

September gave the office more control over exports, SMS and pricing, and gave drivers an app they can lock, a checklist that works offline, and proof of delivery that cannot be skipped.

In the office

Export Team Portal grids straight to Excel

Process Charges and Trips and Runs now export to Excel with your filters applied. No copying rows into a spreadsheet by hand, and the export matches what is on screen.

Choose which jobs text your customers

You can now exclude SMS notifications by stop source. If jobs from one source should not text the customer, switch that source off and every other job keeps sending as normal.

Confirm a booked delivery date by text

When a delivery date is booked, you can now send the customer an automatic SMS as well as an email, so they know the date without having to ask.

Breaks built into the optimised route

A driver's break start and end now flow into their optimised route. You no longer have to rearrange stops by hand to fit a break in.

Fortnightly runs stop doubling up

Run schedules set to every second week now create one trip a fortnight. No extra trips to find and remove in the weeks in between.

Date based rates apply to the trip date

Date scoped rate rules on runs now price against the date of the trip rather than the current date, so a rate set for a particular day applies to trips on that day.

Delivery windows in the address's time zone

Time windows on stops created through the API now follow the time zone of the delivery address, not the time zone of the person who created the stop. If you book deliveries outside your own time zone, the window is correct for the address.

Land on the screen you use

Each team's chosen login destination now applies the moment someone signs in. Teams who prefer the default screen can switch it off.

Re-attempt a failed stop without re-entering details

The stop duration, brand and notes now carry across to the re-attempt automatically.

Book onto yesterday's date for an assigned driver

Booking a shipment onto a past trip date for an assigned driver now completes it, instead of being blocked by a date error.

Reassigned empty runs stay reassigned

When a dispatcher moves an empty scheduled trip to another driver, it no longer regenerates for the original driver.

Regional managers see their own region

Managers assigned to a team region now see only their region's stops and invoices.

Smaller things that stop getting in the way

Trips now open for detail with a customer filter applied, and the Include Run Service Lines setting in team member invoicing now saves the way you left it.

Better address matching

Address lookups now use your team's country, so addresses are matched in the right country. Results the system cannot match with confidence are no longer accepted as a match. A second address service now backs up the first, so lookups keep working if one service is unavailable.

For your drivers

Protect the driver app if a phone goes missing

Drivers can now lock the app with Face ID or fingerprint, with a PIN they choose as a backup. The app locks every time it opens from closed, so it cannot be opened by someone else.

Start without waiting for the first stop

Start Trip and Start Run now appear as soon as a trip or run is assigned, before any stops have been added.

Delivery notes at the moment of handover

Stop notes now pop up when the driver completes the stop, just before proof of delivery, instead of when they arrive. The instruction is in front of them when they act on it.

Start and end a run from the list

Run Start and Run End buttons are now on the bookings list as well as the map, so drivers who work from the list do not have to switch views.

Scan the reference instead of typing it

When adding a stop, drivers can scan a barcode to fill in the source reference. No typing, no typos.

Two runs in one day work as expected

Stops scanned onto a second active run now attach to that run, the route locks after optimising, and end of trip questions wait until the whole trip is finished rather than appearing after the first run.

An onboarding checklist drivers can rely on

The onboarding checklist has been rebuilt:

  • Onboarding now works without signal and syncs when the phone reconnects

  • If your team requires scan to check, items can no longer be ticked by tapping or Select All

  • Barcodes match regardless of upper or lower case, and stored barcodes with stray spaces still match

  • On multi run trips, only the active run's items appear, and items from cancelled stops no longer show

  • Scanning an item that is already ticked no longer unticks it

  • The manual barcode entry button now works

  • Drivers are warned before leaving the checklist with unsaved ticks

  • What the driver ticks is what is reported as delivered or not delivered, and partial deliveries are noted on the stop again

Proof of delivery cannot be skipped

If your team requires photos or a signature, a stop can no longer be completed from the stop detail or status picker without them.

Received By records the person who signed

When a signature is captured, Received By is no longer filled in automatically with the stop contact's name. The record shows who actually signed, not who was booked.

Bluetooth barcode scanners work on the new app

Bluetooth barcode scanners now work across every scan screen on the new app, as they did on the old one. On Android, they now read GS1-128 carton and pallet labels.

Know a scan missed without looking

A barcode that is not found now has its own sound and vibration, different from a successful scan, so drivers know without checking the screen.

The first photo is as quick as the rest

The first proof of delivery photo at each stop used to take several seconds to capture. It is now instant, like every photo after it, so drivers are not left waiting at the door.

See the break countdown from the list

The live break countdown now shows in the bookings list, not just on the map.

Time windows at a glance

Active stops in the stop list are now coloured by their time window, and completed stops show in grey.

A map that holds its zoom

Stop pins now separate as you zoom in, delivery pins stay visible on Android at every zoom level, and the map keeps the driver's zoom while a route is waiting to be locked.

Frequent address scanning that gives feedback

Frequent address QR scans now give feedback on every scan, work offline with items kept on stops created without signal, and find addresses correctly on the second run of the day. Adding another invoice to a scanned stop no longer removes it from its run.

Drivers know when a job has been moved

When a job is reassigned, the driver who had it now gets a notification. Jobs assigned directly to a driver are now labelled as assigned, not offered.

Company login on the driver app

Enterprise Single Sign On now extends to the driver app, with a branded login, so drivers sign in with their company login.

Japanese language messages

Item checklist and QR scanner messages are now shown in Japanese for Japanese language users.

Connected systems

Import item lines with your stops

Stops imported through the API can now include item lines inside each stop item, so the detail arrives in one import.

Signatures and photos are labelled

Proof of delivery attachments now carry a type, signature or photo, so your systems can tell them apart.

Drivers get new jobs even with the app closed

When a job is assigned to a driver whose app is not connected, they now receive a push notification.

Corrected API documentation

Documentation across all endpoints and models at developer.locate2u.com has been corrected and filled in.

Faster and more dependable

Stop lists load faster, phone number checks are more dependable under load, Bulk SMS stop selection now loads for high volume teams, and trip stop exports complete reliably.
