Stellantis has unveiled plans to launch four electrified pickup trucks in North America within the next two years.

This initiative is a key component of its Dare Forward 2030 strategy, which includes an increased focus on electric vehicles (EVs). It’s currently the third-largest seller of commercial vehicles in North America and has set its sights on becoming the industry leader, challenging giants like Ford and General Motors.

Introducing Pro One

Under the Pro One banner, Stellantis is gearing up to introduce a lineup of electrified pickups, a response to rivals like Ford Pro and GM’s BrightDrop electric commercial van brand.

Jean-Philippe Imparato, head of Stellantis’ commercial vehicles business unit, emphasizes the company’s commitment, saying: “We are launching Pro One to leverage our undeniable commercial vehicles leadership with the concept — six brands, one force — as this business accounts for one-third of Its net revenues. As customer expectations grow more complex and diverse, we are here to address each specific need with a dedicated solution.”

The company’s electrified portfolio will span six brands: Ram, Citroën, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, and Vauxhall. This extensive range encompasses five vans, ten pickup trucks, and a micro-mobility offering.

Production will be supported by fifteen plants across North America, Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Africa.

Meet the electrified range

The highlight of Stellantis’ electrified lineup is the all-electric Ram 1500 REV, slated to commence production in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Additionally, a hydrogen-powered variant is on the horizon. There is also something called a Range Electric Paradigm Breaker model, which utilizes an internal combustion engine to power the vehicle’s battery,

While competitors like GM and Ford are reevaluating their electric truck production timelines due to evolving market demands, Stellantis remains steadfast in its commitment to electrification. Industry analysts note that the transition to EVs is at a critical juncture, with the company positioning itself strategically in the market.

With the imminent launch of the Ram REV, the brand is poised to offer a competitive product that aligns with the shifting landscape of electric vehicles.

Stellantis stepping up

As the industry grapples with challenges such as range anxiety and charging infrastructure, Stellantis is stepping up, ensuring its presence in this transformative era of automotive technology.

The company is set to unveil its next-generation connected vans during a live-streamed presentation today, October 23, further emphasizing its dedication to advancing electric mobility.

The launch of the all-electric Ram ProMaster in the North American market, slated for later this year in Mexico, signifies another milestone in Stellantis’ electrification journey. It boasts a sales volume of 1.6 million commercial vehicles and ambitious plans to double commercial vehicle net revenues by 2030.
