A robot can now deliver your next Shake Shack order without spilling, cold food, or awkward interactions.

Serve Robotics (Nasdaq: SERV) has partnered with Shake Shack (NYSE: SHAK). This means orders placed on Uber Eats will be delivered with autonomous delivery robots.

The idea of receiving orders without interacting with a delivery driver can be normalized. Especially with more restaurants trying to make last-mile delivery contactless.

Leaping forward with robots

This partnership signifies a significant leap forward in retailers’ and restaurants’ efforts to ‘normalize’ robot deliveries.

Robot deliveries are efficient and accurate. Particularly in densely populated urban environments where traffic and other logistical challenges often cause delays.

Serve Robotics’ robots are equipped with advanced navigation systems and AI to ensure that orders reach customers quickly and safely.

“This partnership highlights our commitment to leveraging innovation to enhance guest experiences both in and out of Shack,” says Steph So from Shake Shack.

Robots that can maneuver

Serve Robotics robots are designed to handle the last mile of delivery with grace—without any food spillage. They maneuver through city streets and even interact with customers at the drop-off point.

It minimizes human error and contact, and it offers more consistent service.

Serve Robotics president Touraj Parang says the company plans to add more restaurants and send more orders with robots.

“We work to expand our geographic footprint and deploy 2,000 robots across the US in 2025,” says Parang.

Future of robot delivery

A new survey has revealed that more customers are open to contactless delivery robots. Not only is it more convenient, but it is also a matter of hygiene.

The Delivery Robots Market report has found that the demand for robots equipped with “advanced contactless delivery features” is expected to rise over the next six years (2024 -2030).
