It’s no secret that customers want their delivery to arrive as soon as possible, making it challenging for businesses to keep up with demand.
This is why offering more delivery options, like same day delivery, is essential for keeping up with competitors and giving customers the flexibility to receive their item where and when they want it.
Retail juggernaut, Amazon, is continuing its mission to enhance the customer delivery experience by revealing ambitions to expand their same-day delivery service.
To accomplish this, Amazon is building what is referred to as “sub-same day delivery stations” and increasing the capacity of its specialized fulfillment centers. These smaller fulfillment centers and delivery hubs, which share a single roof, are designed to prepare goods for fast delivery. Amazon already runs 46 of these facilities in the US, and it plans to build or open 150 more over the next few years.
Target is another large retailer who is also improving their fast shipping choices, recently revealing intentions to invest $100 million on a next-day delivery project. This investment will be set to increase Target’s sortation centers to 15, allowing them to expand next-day delivery services to more markets.
This is great news for customers wanting a better delivery experience. The establishment of specialized fulfillment facilities will give customers access to a greater variety of products that will be delivered in only a few hours. More convenience and flexibility will be available to customers as a result, especially those with pressing requirements or busy schedules.
No more waiting days or weeks for your delivery!
