TikTok Shop has announced a new partnership with Royal Mail to assist merchants on its platform to have a better experience.

Now, merchants can integrate the Royal Mail’s ‘Click and Drop’ service with TikTok Shop. This will help merchants provide customers with a better delivery. The new initiative applies to merchants of all sizes. Sellers will also be able to view their TikTok Shop orders together with other sales channels in one place.

Receive orders fast

TikTok Shop GM of UK Ecommerce Patrick Nommensen says the partnership will make merchant’s lives easier by streamlining the fulfilment process. “Working with such a trusted and established organisation will save vital time for merchants and ensure our customers get their orders as quickly as possible,” he says.

The ‘Click and Drop’ service is available to existing TikTok Shop merchants who install the integration in the Service Market in the Seller Centre.

Royal Mail makes postage easy for merchants

The company’s ‘Click and Drop’ allows merchants to print labels and pay for postage online. The service works with marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Shopify.

It also allows merchants to Import all orders, give customers a choice of delivery services, make labels easily, and get regular shipping and tracking reports.

TikTok enters the logistics game

Earlier this month, TikTok announced it will set up fulfillment warehouses. The company will take on the complicated task of managing inventory and delivery from various independent merchants who sell goods to TikTok followers.

In August, the company announced the launch of ‘Fulfilled by TikTok’ (FBT) for merchants using the TikTok Shop in the UK to sell on the platform. The FBT program sees TikTok Shop stores pick, pack, and ship a merchant’s products to followers.

UK parcel delivery market

Mordor Intelligence reports the UK courier, express, and parcel (CEP) market is growing with the increasing number of same-day delivery transactions. “The United Kingdom, along with Italy, has been the fastest-growing market in the European region, owing to the powerful digital trends that are driving the market. The key market players are continuously reinventing the post and parcel industry with technology-driven innovations.”

The report adds that the growing internet penetration is shifting retail to the digital world. “The post and parcel companies are focusing on strategies to re-engineer their core businesses to meet the new face of rapidly expanding B2C parcel delivery, especially same-day delivery. The same-day strategy led by Amazon changed the pace of the delivery market and is becoming more widely offered,” reads the report.
