We’ve entered Brake’s annual Road Safety Week campaign, and Applied Driving has launched an international competition that rewards safe drivers.

The initiative, known as the Driver Safety Challenge, is open to both fleet drivers and individual motorists. During November, participants can win cash prizes and other exciting rewards, all while championing road safety.

This challenge is part of Applied Driving’s annual Road Safety Month, which coincides with Brake’s Road Safety Week 2023.

Stay safe, driver

Drivers from the UK and worldwide can compete against one another, or even challenge the organization’s head of training and education, Orlando Collesso. The Companion+ Mobile Safety app evaluates risky driving events and offers customized training in the form of safety messages, videos, or e-learning modules tailored to the specific needs of the drivers.

“Our goal is to inspire, educate, and motivate drivers to enhance their safe driving habits by participating in our month-long challenge. All they need to do is register on our website and download our Companion+ Mobile Safety app, which will be provided free of charge throughout the event. This app allows us to monitor their driving performance, enabling us to identify and reward our top performers,” says Andy Phillips, the global managing partner at Applied Driving.

Giving back

Participants will receive weekly performance updates via email, including their current global driver league table ranking.

Phillips stresses the significance of this competition, stating, “We designed this contest to showcase how effective driver engagement can promote safer driving behaviors. It’s a fantastic opportunity for fleets to experience our solution without any cost, with potential reductions of at-risk driving events by up to 96%. Organizations choosing to continue with Companion+ after the campaign can benefit from a special promotional discount.”

Drivers are encouraged to participate in various initiatives and access complimentary resources aimed at advancing road safety awareness. This includes safety workshops and webinars conducted throughout November. Participants will also gain free access to an extensive e-learning module library and can download road safety bulletins.

How to enter

Drivers can register through the Applied Driving website and download the Companion+ Mobile Safety app free of charge throughout the event.

The Companion+ Mobile Safety app evaluates potentially risky driving incidents and responds with tailored safety measures. This can include safety messages, instructional videos, or e-learning modules specifically designed to address each driver’s unique needs.

Applied Driving will meticulously analyze the results, utilizing the gathered data to identify and crown the deserving winners of the competition. This thorough evaluation process ensures that safe driving behaviors are acknowledged and celebrated, reinforcing the importance of responsible driving on a global scale.
