How we shop has become as easy as clicking a button online, all in the comfort of your home or office. The e-commerce market is soaring – rightly so. Consumers have become quite demanding; they want items fast. With the festive season quickly approaching, this is even more evidence.

Recently, UK parcel carrier Yodel entered into an agreement with the online platform Vinted. This company sells pre-loved fashion items.

Vinted users can select either Yodel’s store-to-store or store-to-door services. The services allow sellers to drop off their parcel at their nearest store for the recipient to collect or to deliver directly to the recipient’s address. Customers can live-track their orders via Yodel’s website or the Yodel app as soon as their package has been dropped off in-store.

Access new markets easily

Online business owners may be wondering why the e-commerce market is so important. Here are some highlights:

  • You can tap into many different market segments easily.
  • Customers can access your product from anywhere.
  • You can use various marketing tools to market your online business, for example, search engine optimization (SEO).

Online marketplaces have become hugely popular because consumers can find what they need quickly and make a purchase immediately.

The e-commerce train

The e-commerce business owner is clever. They generally don’t work from a rented office. So while building a lucrative business, they are saving on operating costs – and not breaking the bank with rental payments.

In recent weeks there has been a flurry of businesses hopping on the e-commerce train. TikTok has now entered the logistics game by offering fulfillment warehouses to its followers. The world over is realizing that having an online business does not have to be difficult. There are even tools to automate certain processes.

If you’re a CEO of a company looking to enter the e-commerce space, it’s a good move. You would open your business to markets you never had. The important company CEOs need to realize is that an online store is making life convenient for the customer – the person investing in your business.

Companies partnering for e-commerce

Nowadays companies are working together to the benefit of the e-commerce space. Companies like ShipStation, a cloud-based shipping solution company and a marketplace integration platform ChannelEngine are helping online merchants sell more goods. Merchants will be able to import orders directly from ChannelEngine to ShipStation. In addition, merchants can automate related shipping and warehouse processes. Eliminating manual tasks will allow merchants to have a more efficient shipping workflow.
