No more crying over spilled milk!
Woolworths, the Australian supermarket giant, has acquired the assets and operating entity of Milkrun, a collapsed grocery delivery start-up, for an estimated $10 million. Milkrun, which had received $86 million in venture capital funding, had gained popularity for its rapid grocery delivery service, delivering orders in 20 minutes or less. Woolworths plans to rebrand its existing Metro60 service as Milkrun and fulfill orders through its current model using third-party couriers.
By leveraging the established infrastructure of its Metro stores, Woolworths now offers Milkrun delivery in over 500 suburbs across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, and the Gold Coast. This expansion allows customers in these areas to experience the speed and convenience of Milkrun’s grocery delivery service.
Woolworths’ acquisition of Milkrun allows for the potential enhancement of its grocery delivery services. Although Milkrun does not currently utilize Locate2u, integrating our innovative features in the future could optimize delivery operations.
With our route optimization, real-time tracking, and customer notifications, businesses like Woolworths and Milkrun can improve efficiency, reduce delivery times, cut costs, and deliver a superior experience. By leveraging our technology, businesses can remain competitive in the online grocery market and keep customers happy.
