Shopping for groceries just got easier, thanks to DoorDash partnering with Save A Lot for on-demand grocery delivery. With over 400 stores currently live on DoorDash, consumers can access high-quality fresh products for same-day delivery in under an hour, on average.

In addition, later this year, participating Save A Lot stores will support SNAP/EBT payment capabilities on DoorDash for on-demand delivery of SNAP-eligible groceries.

DoorDash has a fast delivery solution

DoorDash offers access to a wide range of neighborhood essentials, including groceries, retail items, flowers, and food, from over 500,000 local merchants.

This follows another on-demand delivery partnership with the US’ beauty retailer, Ulta Beauty.

But the company is going one step further in its mission to deliver fast. Together with drone delivery company Wing, DoorDash will now bring convenience to homes in Christiansburg, Virginia.

How are retail chains enhancing customer convenience with fast delivery?

Retail chains are hopping onto the fast delivery trend and delivering items to customers quickly. Talk about the ultimate convenience.

Walmart has brought the ease of shopping to thousands of homes in Dallas Fort-Worth with drone delivery available to 75% of the community.

Drones use for fleet management

There are several reasons drones are being used for delivery. Here are a few reasons drones are used for fleet management:

  • Drones fly above ground and are not restricted by traffic.
  • Deliveries will not be hampered by the issue of labor shortages.
  • A drone does not travel on roads, so there is less wear and tear on the drone than a vehicle that may be stranded at a service center for a particular problem.

US retail logistics market

Grand View Research reports the rapid growth of the global e-commerce sector and the development of new technologies drive the demand for logistics services.

“The growing internet penetration coupled with benefits such as easy & free returns/exchange, fast delivery, reduced shipping charges, and humongous product options, among others, are contributing to the high growth of e-commerce retail,” reads the report.
