DoorDash, a prominent local commerce platform, has announced its latest collaboration with Lowe’s. This can revolutionize the home improvement sector by providing on-demand delivery services from over 1,700 stores across the United States.
This initiative signifies DoorDash’s first venture into the home improvement sector and significantly enhances its platform’s portfolio.
Now, more than 99% of DoorDash’s monthly US consumers have immediate access to a retailer through the platform, marking a substantial stride in connecting logistics and retail services.
Consumers rely on for on-demand delivery
Lowe’s is a US home improvement company that serves approximately 16 million customer transactions a week.
Neelima Sharma, senior vice president of digital commerce and technology at Lowe’s, says the collaboration with DoorDash will unlock the opportunity to reach customers shopping on the food delivery app.
Fuad Hannon, VP of New Verticals at DoorDash, says: “Our partnership enables consumers with quick access to must-have tools and last-minute materials to complete projects of all sizes. With Lowe’s on the marketplace, we add to the great selection of everyday essentials consumers rely on for on-demand delivery on DoorDash.”

Purchase on the DoorDash app
Customers can now conveniently purchase Lowe’s products through the DoorDash app. This enables a seamless shopping experience for essential items with the added benefit of same-day delivery. This integration extends to all participating Lowe’s stores, which are also accessible via DashPass, DoorDash’s subscription service.
DashPass members enjoy the perk of no delivery fees and reduced service charges on eligible orders, not only from Lowe’s but also from a vast network of restaurants, grocery, and convenience stores nationwide. This development represents a significant milestone in merging retail convenience with efficient logistics solutions.
Drone as a means for delivery
Last month, Locate2u reported on DoorDash’s partnership with Wing to bring fast delivery straight to customers’ homes.
Drones are fast becoming the go-to for companies looking to get items to their customers quickly. On the restaurant circuit, Chick-fil-A, the US’ largest fast-food restaurant chain previously announced it was testing drone delivery.
The world’s first cargo drone airline is changing things up in the middle-mile logistics space. The company desires to make same-day deliveries possible for everyone, everywhere.
In an exclusive interview with Locate2u recently, Severina Grozeva, director of global communications and public relations at Dronamics, gave some insight into the drone delivery industry.
“Cargo drones represent a huge opportunity for more efficient and cost-effective delivery, especially in the middle-mile and remote or hard-to-reach areas. Cargo drones can bridge the gap in access to goods and services for remote communities, enabling them to receive deliveries quickly and efficiently,” says Grozeva.
